The Briton’s men’s tennis team traveled to the Los Angelos, Calif., area over spring break to take on multiple west coast tennis teams. When we arrived at LAX Airport we were greeted by warm weather and palm trees all around us. After arriving at our hotel in Santa Ana (Orange County), the team headed off to the courts to have their first outdoor practice of the season.

Softball gets fresh start

As a first-year, I didn’t have a clue as to what to expect for my first collegiate softball tournament. Obviously I was extremely excited for our week-long trip to Kissimmee, Fla., but on top of that, I was also a little nervous. Fortunately, I had a 22-hour bus drive to look forward to, giving me plenty of time to relax.

We landed in Los Angeles, Calif.,with enough time to have an afternoon co-ed practice. We were all so excited to finally be on spring break. We played for about two hours and then returned back to the hotel. We all hung out together at the pool that night and went to bed early since we were all so tired from traveling.

My spring break this year with the track team down to Florida will probably be one that I remember the most in the years to come for a number of reasons.

As the Albion College Baseball team headed to Winter Haven, Fla., for our spring baseball trip, we were looking forward to seeing our hard work indoors pay off out of doors. Our goals were to win games, gain experience and prepare for the MIAA league play.

About 9 a.m. we arrive in Florida. I had driven the last four-hour shift and was starting to get tired of driving and being in the car for so long. Our first run in Florida is just a short “shake out” run to get our legs moving again. The distance girls do a half hour run around the area as a group to get a feel for the weather and our legs.
