On Friday, Albion College’s Music Department hosted a faculty recital at Goodrich Chapel.
The adjunct instructor of saxophone, Nathan Salazar in his first semester here at Albion performed on the saxophone. Salazar was accompanied by Nicholas Laban, who is the head collaborative pianist and music audition coordinator for Albion College’s Music Department. Laban has had that title since he got hired at Albion in the fall of 2013.
The selection of music performed by Salazar and Laban included “Lamento et Rondo” by Pierre Sancan, “Symphonic Rhapsody” by John Anthony Lennon, “Rosary Sonata No. 1” by Heinrich Ignaz Franz Biber and “Violin Concerto in D minor” by Aram Khatchaturian. The last two pieces were arranged by Salazar himself.
