Brief: Small Colleges Juried Art Exhibition

The Michigan Small Colleges Juried Exhibition will come to a close on Saturday, April 5. The exhibition, which has been on display in Albion College’s Visual Arts Center since March 1, will celebrate its conclusion with a commencement ceremony to honor the featured student artists.

The Michigan Small Colleges’ Juried Art Exhibition is an art show featuring composers from various small colleges in the state of Michigan. The five schools participating in this year’s show include Adrian College, Alma College, Kalamazoo College, Olivet College and Albion College.

Students from the listed schools submitted digital images of up to three artworks of any medium for consideration to juror Robert McCann, associate professor and foundations coordinator of painting for Michigan State University. McCann made his selections for the show in January, and the juror later came to Albion, reviewed the work and awarded prizes. During the closing reception on Saturday, the awards will be given out to the student winners.

The reception will be held tomorrow in Bobbitt Visual Arts Center from 2-4 p.m.
