Breaking the Silence—Coming out week 2010

Coming Out Week 2010 began with a parade on Monday Oct. 18 that
started at the Bonta Admissions Office and ended with a speech given
by the president of Break The Silence. On Wednesday Oct. 20,
students showed support for the week by wearing purple. Students also
showed support by painting the rock on the campus quad and hanging
banners on campus.

Wednesday night, Break The Silence held an open mic
night, where a visiting poet read original poetry in support of coming
out. Coming Out Week wrapped up Thursday Oct. 21 with a drag show
sponsored by Power Diva.

  1. As an alum and past president of Break the Silence it is such a joy to see and remember what a welcoming and affirming place Albion is for GLBT students. I applaud you all for your courage and your convictions.

    Be well,
