MIAA Men’s basketball preview


 2008 Record: 8-17

Vs. Albion: 1-2

The Bulldogs return only four players from last year, and have nine freshmen that comprise the 16-man squad. The Bulldogs return only three seniors, leaving it to the youth of the squad to step up.


2008 Record: 9-16

Vs. Albion: 0-2

The Hornets are adding nine new members to a team looking for some firepower. Of these nine, eight are freshmen, while one is a sophomore transfer. The team is returning only one of its top five scorers from last season.


2008 Record: 6-19

Vs. Albion: 1-1

With only two seniors returning, this is also a young team. More than half the 16-man team is made up of underclassmen. The Scots have more freshmen than any other class with five. They are pretty deep, however, with five sophomores and four juniors.

Vs. Albion: 0-2

The Comets return four of five starters on a team that has been improving each year and placed fourth in the league last season. Along with this experience, the Comets also have three new transfers that should surprise.



2008 Record: 19-8

Vs. Albion: 2-0

The defending MIAA champions return two full-time starters and two part-time starters from last season. The Knights are returning three seniors and also have three  juniors with prior experience. The team is a more experienced bunch with only four freshmen on the roster.



2008 Record: 7-19

Vs. Albion: 0-2

The Thunder returns lots of experience with four seniors and five juniors. They also welcome two transfers with lots of experience, as well as three freshmen. Top scorer Wes Weir will power the Thunder.



2008 Record: 21-8

Vs. Albion: 2-1

The Flying Dutchman return eight members from a squad that posted a runner-up finish in the MIAA. The 14-man team is made up of mostly juniors with five returning and boasts even more experience with two seniors. The rest of the team is made up of three freshmen standouts and four sophomores.



2008 Record: 15-11

Vs. MIAA: 9-5

The Britons return four seniors and five juniors on a squad that finished solo third in the league. The Britons also welcome four freshmen all of which are expected to bring major benefits to the Britons.
