The end of the fall 2009 football season marked the first senior class under head coach Craig Rundle to not win the MIAA championship. When asked about his feelings toward not winning, Rundle had no comment.
Jacob Lee, Spring Lake, senior, was one of the seniors who failed to win an MIAA championship.
“ I think too many times, people base success on extrinsic awards,” Lee said. “Although I am disappointed, I look at my career from a standpoint of what I can control.”
Since 1997, this was the first senior class to not win the MIAA championship with Rundle. Rundle has won the championship four times in his 12 years with the Britons.
Despite not winning the MIAA this year, the team remains positive on the future for the team.
“Because we have 6 all-MIAA players returning, and finished the year second in the league, we are confident going into next season,” said Jeremy Green, Chattanooga, Tenn., junior.
