Albion’s student-run, award-winning student news source is accepting applications for the following staff positions for fall 2009, the first semester of the new all-digital Pleiad.
Editor in Chief
Oversee all aspects of the Pleiad
Ensure quality of all content and uphold professional ethical and legal standards
Top edit all stories
Contribute one article, blog post, graphic or other feature per week
Post stories to the website and monitor community contributions
Managing editor
Oversee editorial schedule and deadlines
Contribute one article, blog post, graphic or other feature per week
Monitor community contributions to the website
Multimedia editor
Produce 1+ video, audio or photo story per week in collaboration with section editors
Edit and post multimedia
Copy editor
Ensure consistency and accuracy in all copy
Contribute one article, blog post, graphic or other feature per week
Senior editors (multiple positions)
Plan and monitor coverage of a specific beat (sports, entertainment, money, etc)
Edit stories as assigned
Write one article per week
Contribute one interactive feature (poll, blog post, etc) per week
Work with multimedia editor on 2-3 visual or audio stories per semester
Website manager
Manage administrative aspects of the website
Troubleshoot technical issues
Business manager
Establish price structure for Pleiad ads
Maintain relationships with advertisers
Sell ads to local and national businesses
Invoice businesses
Oversee Pleiad budget
