Brazilian president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva tossed free condoms out to the crowds during Carnival parades in Rio de Janeiro. Silva tossed the condoms as part of Brazil’s nationwide campaign to prevent the spread of AIDS.

An infant boy in Bhubaneswar, India, was married off to his neighbors’ dog by villagers who say the dog will save the boy from being killed by wild animals. No dowry was exchanged, and the boy will be able to marry a human in the future without filing for divorce.
