-MEN’S BASKETBALL-

Record: 10-4

This week: Albion will battle it out for a piece of the MIAA tournament. The Britons played Adrian on Wednesday in the first round. The tournament semi-finals will take place tonight at 7 pm, and the championship game will be on Saturday night at 7:30 pm.

Last week: The Britons lost their final regular season game to Alma.

Key player: Andrew Holms, Portage senior, was named MIAA player of the week. Holms scored 22 points and 18 points respectively in Albion’s victories against Trine University and Kalamazoo College

-WOMEN’S BASKETBALL-

Record: 9-7

This week: Albion moved onto the second round of the MIAA Tournament, beating Trine 56-46 .

Last week: The Brits trounced Olivet Saturday afternoon 70-47. The victory tied Albion for third in the MIAA for the regular season standings.

Key player: Nicole Dennis, St. Clair Shores first-year, led Albion with 18 points. It was also her 12th time scoring double digits this season.

-SWIMMING & DIVING-

Last week: Albion men’s swimming finished fifth and women’s swimming finished sixth at the MIAA finals.

Key athletes: Ty Lattimore, Grosse Pointe junior, earned the MIAA title for the 1-meter dive for the second year in a row. Lattimore was also named MIAA diver of the year for the second time. Emily Magyar, Gobles junior, placed second overall in the 3-meter dive. Ryan Gunderson, Grosse Pointe senior, placed fifth in the 50 freestyle and received a spot on the “B cut” for the NCAA Division lll Championships.

-WOMEN’S TENNIS-

This week: Albion prepares to face Kalamazoo Community College at home on Sunday, March 1.

Last week: The Britons fell to Grand Valley State University at home last Sunday.

Key player: Tessa Morris, Grand Rapids sophomore, forced a tie breaker in the first set of her singles match, but the Brits were unable to get it done in a 9-0 loss.

-MEN’S TENNIS-

This week: The Brits take on Spring Arbor University Thursday at 4 p.m.

Last week: Albion lost 8-1 in a home match up with Grand Valley State University on Sunday.

Key Player: Chris Atallah, Farmington Hills sophomore, and Chris Brown, East Grand Rapids sophomore, won their No. 2 doubles match by a score of 8-6.

-TRACK & FIELD-

This week: The Britons will travel to Anderson, Ind. on Saturday to compete in the Fred Wilt Invitational.

Last week: In their indoor track and field meet with Ohio Northern University, Albion was defeated by a score of 241-159 for the men’s and 265-138 for the women’s last Saturday.

Key athletes: For the women, Erika Nichols, Greenville junior, placed first in the mile run and second in the 3,000-meter run. For the men, Ben Alger, Grass Lake sophomore, won the mile and Andrew Maximiuk, Grand Rapids senior, won the triple jump.
